Hey there! I’m Claire!

So happy for the chance to “meet” you and in fact, I’d love to dig deeper by hopping on a quick call with you.  Click here to book a time to chat!

How did I get into fitness, nutrition, and accountability coaching?

The story starts when I was 3 years old in my hometown of Alton, IL, a suburb of St. Louis, MO.  I started dance classes and loved it.  I dabbled in soccer and hated it…instead, there was something about connecting my body’s movements to the music in dance that felt so right.  I found the gym in high school, and suddenly I found my dance skills to be enhanced by my efforts to get stronger in the gym. I was hooked!

In college at Tulane University in New Orleans, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  After working at a big girl job for a year in St. Louis, I went back down to my beloved Nola to earn a Masters of Science in Psychology at Tulane.  My graduate thesis was focused on the development of tool usage in toddlers, and my studies centered around developmental psychology.  After graduation I considered getting my PhD in psych, even took the LSAT while I briefly went down the law school pathway, but neither of those seemed to be the right fit for my interests.

Throughout all the moves and career possibilities, one of the consistencies in my life was fitness and nutrition. I always made time for mindful movement and eating because, well, it made me feel good!  I saw firsthand how impactful it was to take care of myself.

My original business, Fleur de Lis Fitness, was started in 2014 when I was working full-time in sales and had decided to finally become an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified group fitness instructor after loved ones encouraged me to do so.  I then earned my ACE certified personal trainer and Nutritious Life Certified Nutritionist not long afterwards.

Since my longtime college boyfriend (now husband and baby daddy) was active duty military at the time, I worked with many military clients.  I quickly realized that the nature of frequently relocating disrupted clients’ progress, so I started working with my clients virtually - when Skype was the only mainstream video conferencing platform.  It was comical how hesitant they initially were to try it out but once they did, they absolutely loved the convenience!  Fast forward to pandemic life and virtual wellness is everywhere. :)

Over the years (and all the moves, I’ve lived in every mainland USA time zone) I’ve taught with well known brands like Equinox, Athleta/Gap, Spotify, Headspace, Fabletics, AMEX, Dropbox, Princeton Review, and Colgate.  I’ve also collaborated on social media with bands including BLANQI, Native, Imperfect Foods, Aeroflow, ThirdLove, PS Snacks, Intelligent Change, and Apto Skincare.  I love connecting brands I believe in with my crew!

In 2019, my husband and I decided to expand our little family.  We ended up experiencing infertility, and worked with UCSF Center for Reproductive Health in San Francisco.  It turns out I had hypothalamic amenorrhea, and we tried everything from clomid, injectable meds + TIC, IUI, and eventually IVF.

Our little bundle of joy - Oliver Scott O’Mahoney - was born on July 2, 2021.

Prior to my pregnancy I began to study prenatal fitness, and I became a PROnatal Fitness Pre/Postnatal Performance Specialist while I was pregnant.  As a result of this education, I am a HUGE advocate for safe, effective, and specific training for the prenatal and postpartum populations.  If someone were signed up for a marathon, they’d train specifically for that event for months leading up to the event.  The same logic applies to pregnancy!  Women can set themselves (and their babies!) up for greater success if they practice movement patterns that are catered to life’s marathon - pregnancy.  By the way, if you have any questions about infertility, pregnancy, or beyond, I’m an open book and would love to speak with you!

After we welcomed Oliver, I rebranded with the amazing Megan Turkovic of Lily + Co and launched my new baby, The Clairity Collective! This new brand more accurately encompasses who I am and whom I serve.  I am more than a personal trainer - I’m a wellness expert with 8 years of experience, a masters degree in psychology, a fitness resource, nutrition coach, and accountability coach.  I have tons of knowledge and tricks up my sleeve (or my imaginary sleeve….because I’m often just running around in a sports bra or tank top!) that I’d LOVE to share with you.

Let’s connect about how I can help you live your best life, collaborate with your brand, and together, get STRONGER in all the ways.
